After Death's transformation comes Temperance - the card of balance, moderation, and the alchemical blending of opposites.

In my hand-embroidered tarot series, Temperance represents the delicate balance required in creative work - knowing when to add and when to hold back, when to push and when to rest.

The Symbolism

An angel stands with one foot on land and one in water, pouring liquid between two cups in an endless flow. The triangle on their chest represents the union of masculine and feminine, while the square represents the material world. Behind them, a golden path leads to a crown between two mountains - the reward of balanced living.

This card asks: Where do you need more balance? What opposing forces are you learning to blend?

My Interpretation

Stitching Temperance required the perfect balance of tension in the thread - too tight and it puckers, too loose and it sags. The reclaimed linen teaches temperance too - respecting its nature while gently coaxing it into new forms, blending old and new, waste and beauty.

Temperance reminds us that mastery is not about extremes but about finding the middle way, that true alchemy happens when we patiently blend opposing forces into something greater than either alone.
