After The Hanged Man's suspension comes Death - the card of transformation, endings, and the necessary release that makes space for new growth.

In my hand-embroidered tarot series, Death represents the courage to let go of what no longer serves us and trust in the transformation that follows.

The Symbolism

A skeleton in black armor rides a white horse, carrying a black flag with a white rose - the symbol of beauty emerging from decay. A king lies fallen, showing that death comes for all regardless of status. In the distance, the sun rises between two towers, promising rebirth after the ending.

This card asks: What needs to end so something new can begin? What are you ready to release?

My Interpretation

Stitching Death felt like honoring the necessary endings in the creative journey - the projects abandoned, the techniques outgrown, the old versions of ourselves we've shed. The reclaimed linen itself has died to its former purpose and been reborn as art - a perfect embodiment of transformation.

Death reminds us that endings are not failures but necessary transitions, that we must compost the old to nourish the new, and that transformation requires letting go.
